Is LIA effective?

LIA uses the Direct Instruction methodology, proven effective over the last several decades by studies made with tens of thousands of children across the world. Upon completion of LIA, your child will have mastered all 26 lower-case letters!

Actual beta-tester’s last day of LIA

“My 3-and-a-half-year-old daughter was interested in letters, so I figured her participation in the LIA beta test wouldn’t hurt. As she went through LIA, I was very surprised about the information and strategies my daughter was mastering. Yes, LIA actually teaches, which is unlike any other educational apps I’ve ever seen. After finishing LIA, my daughter can consistently identify and write all her lower-case letters, especially the tough ones: b and d; p and q.”

Unlike learning the traditional alphabet, LIA introduces letters in an order that emphasizes and builds on distinctions between letter parts to minimize confusion. This can be critical for preventing dyslexia and other reading challenges.

Proven explicit instruction methodology, applied through adaptive, proprietary technology.

How does LIA teach?

Parents and teachers alike are invited to join iDidIT’s LIA beta test and give their children the key to their literacy journey.

Children will Achieve Letter Identification Mastery

LIA prepares children for the next step in the journey to literacy.

Children who complete this app will be able to identify and write all 26 lowercase letters, which is vital for learning to read.

Every child who completes the program will have a solid foundation to identify letters out of sequence.

Due to the automated functionality, children can use LIA during independent learning time without requiring one-to-one support from teachers or tutors.

Prerequisites and Devices

A consistent schedule Is the key to success! All you need to do is schedule your child to use LIA four or more times a week for a minimum of 20 minutes per day.

This app is appropriate for any child who can speak English in complete sentences, but doesn’t know any or many of their lowercase letters.

This beta version of LIA runs on Apple iPads.

Children draw on the touch screen using their fingers, as they would if they were finger painting. A stylus is optional.
